Do you remember the beautiful story of The Ugly Duckling? It is a fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen about a duckling born to be the ugliest in the brood and, later on, turns out to become a beautiful swan.
Our today’s story is similar to that. It is about a dog who was once considered a runt which became the world’s tallest dog.
Freddy is a Great Dane who was born as the smallest in the litter. No one ever imagined that he would outgrow his brood. Later on, Freddy became the World’s Tallest Dog by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2016 when he was four years old.
Freddy measures seven feet and six inches tall when standing on his hind legs and weighs about 203 pounds. Freddy currently lives in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, United Kingdom, together with Fleur, his sibling, and Claire Stoneman, her fur mom.
Claire shares her life with Freddy. She said that Freddy destroyed 23 couches when he was young. She added that it is costly to take care of two giant dog breeds. Claire spends about $15,500 per year on food only.
Despite the considerable cost of taking care of Great Danes, Claire loves Fleur and Freddy to bits. She treats her two giant dogs like her children. Freddy and Fleur would even sleep beside her on the bed. Imagine how crampy it is!
Later on, Freddy bagged another Guinness title: he is now the World’s Oldest Living Great Dane!
Freddy’s fans can follow him on his Facebook and Instagram handles. He has more than 21,000 followers on Facebook and 17,000 on Instagram. His photos will show the thing he likes doing the most: sitting on the couch.
Freddy and Fleur also love to sing! One video clip on Facebook shows that the duo is singing while the “Bohemian Rhapsody” plays in the background.
Freddy is one gentle giant indeed!
