County authorities collaborated with rescue volunteers to save the life of more than 80 dogs that were living in inhumane conditions. These dogs were staying in a house which stood as a puppy mill in Trenton, North Carolina.

The Humane Society of the US, one of the most prominent non-profit rescue organizations in the country, joined hands with the Jones County Sheriff’s Office when they received a report about the dogs. A man who was buying a dog saw how the poor dogs were being treated and notified law enforcement right away.

Filthy and disgusting

During the raid, they found 88 dogs and a cat. These dogs included various breeds such as Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, Dachshunds, and French Bulldogs, among many others. All of whom were living in very unkempt and filthy cramped spaces. They were stuffed together inside wired enclosures wallowing in their own waste.

Most of them looked emaciated and dehydrated. They were merely there for profit and had most likely never experienced being loved by humans. Rescuers were heartbroken to see the matted and uncared dogs, some of which were seniors who have probably stayed inside the cages all their lives.

Some of the cages were inside the house while most of them were in the backyard. There they set up medical tables where the dogs could be examined before they re transported to different local shelters. Many of the dogs were found with various medical conditions. According to the rescuers, the dogs will be given treatments for their health concerns and will be ready for adoption once they are fully treated.

Hopefully, all of them will find a happy home where they will be shown the love and care that they deserve. Watch the horrifying video below and see why puppy mills should never exist. It’s heartbreaking to see why dogs are being put through these situations just so some people can make some money.
